SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- The Major League Soccer All-Star Game is just about 24 hours away, but several players broke off after practice Wednesday to dedicate a new soccer field to an academy in East San Jose.

Right after practice at Avaya Stadium, some of the All-Star team came out to Ocala STEAM Academy to dedicate a brand new mini-pitch - a hard surfaced, fenced-in soccer facility.

The $50,000 field is part of an on-going commitment by major league soccer and sponsors to reach out into local communities.

The San Jose Earthquakes plan to build and donate 20 of these in the Bay Area.
