SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The city of San Francisco is about to be sued for an incident that took place in June during a Giants game at AT&T Park.
Two fans -- April Negrette and Kimball Bighorse -- got upset that another fan was wearing a feathered headdress during Native American Heritage Night.
The tort claim filed Tuesday accuses San Francisco police of using excessive force against the two Native Americans.
"We were acting on behalf of our cultural representation," Bighorse said. "The other party involved were not Native American and only we were asked to leave."
The Giants have since established a policy that prohibits clothing considered culturally offensive. But the Native Americans want them to do more.
The team may still be named in the lawsuit.
A Giants spokesperson did not want to comment to ABC7 News about the claims.
