Police: A's guard's backpack stolen by fan, prompted fight at Bay Bridge series
Oakland police say a security guard's backpack was stolen, causing a fight between a fan and the guard that resulted in the fan's ejection, and the guard's firing.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- The San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics are getting ready to play again Tuesday at the Oakland Coliseum and there are new details about an altercation between a security guard and a fan at Monday's game.

Oakland police say the security guard's backpack was stolen. Another guard found a fan to be in possession of it.

Police say the guard confronted the fan and a fight ensued, then security escorted the fan out of the stadium before officers arrived.

The guard has been fired by US Security Associates, the company that contracts with Staff Pro, which supplies private security for the A's.
