Crews prepare for Special Olympics opening ceremony at LA Coliseum
Crews at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum are gearing up for the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games.

LOS ANGELES -- Crews and police officers at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum are gearing up for the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games.

The ceremony is expected to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday. Almost 7,000 athletes from more than 160 countries will competing in 25 different sports over the course of nine days to win gold.

First Lady Michelle Obama will deliver an opening speech. She will then be followed by musical performances from Stevie Wonder, Avril Lavigne and a few other musical guests. There will also be inspirational speeches and appearances from other celebrities.
