ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan says he believes running back LeSean McCoy, who has not played since Aug. 14 because of hamstring issues, will be ready for Sunday's opener against the Indianapolis Colts.

"I think he's gonna be ready to roll," Ryan said Wednesday. "We'll see how he progresses during the week. But he's practicing in full. So he'll be ready."

McCoy has not played since the Bills' preseason opener.

"It's not ideal, but this dude can play," Ryan said. "I've seen it on the practice field. I'm not concerned, recognizing that we haven't necessarily seen as much work at all of the skill positions."

After practice, McCoy, who was listed as a full participant in practice, said he was ready to go.

"I feel good. I feel like the medical staff has done a good job of preparing me so far. And then practicing, I've just been doing light loads, each day doing more and more. I feel comfortable," he said.

"I'm not sure if I'll be exactly 100 percent, but I feel good enough to go out there and compete."

Bills running backs coach Anthony Lynn told ESPN on Tuesday that the Bills were prepared to play Sunday without McCoy.

"I hope he'll be ready to roll," Lynn said. "I can't say that for that sure, but if he's ready to roll, we're gonna use him and we got a plan for him. And if he's not, we're not gonna blink."
