SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- It was a big win for the San Francisco Giants in Game 1 Tuesday night, as they took the lead in the World Series. And on Wednesday, they'll try to do it again in Game 2 against Royals. The teams are both still in Kansas City, but folks at home are already gearing up for Game 3.

Days before the first fan steps into the ballpark, crews are busy with preparations.

Every seat is steamed. Every light bulb checked. Every blade of grass mowed with the precision of a $100 haircut.

Greg Elliott, who is director of field operations, says watching the sun rise inside AT&T Park on game day is like listening to the first notes of a symphony.

"They're cleaning the stands, so there's like a string that comes into the ballpark and you hear something," he said. "And then we start working on the field, you get a couple more strings, you start hearing more. So it's almost like a beautiful symphony coming together,"

As the game draws near, the music builds until reaching a crescendo with the roar of the crowd. But right now, that's all hours away.

"It's really neat," Elliott said. "And just to see the elevation. It's really quiet, really serene in the morning. You see the dew on the grass, it's a nice quiet time, and you just kinda come in, you start mowing, start doing your thing, just keep moving on."

For now, Elliott's focus is on the field and bunting.

"The closer you get the more precise you get," he said.

Rolls of duct tape or even string will help hold the banners down. Elliott and his team say prepping for the World Series adds some pressure but they'll treat it like a regular season home game.

"We'll treat it like a game day for the practices that we're gonna have, and then we'll go from there," he said.

The crews who make AT&T Park shine hope their Giants get another World Series ring, especially at home.

"It would be a nice gift for the city to win it here, but I don't think the ball players care where they win it, they just want to try to win it again," Elliott said.

With World Series tickets at AT&T Park running from $500 to $5,000, the Bay Area Better Business Bureau has tips on avoiding scams.

If you buy from a ticket broker like StubHub, check with the BBB to make sure the company has a BBB seal and does not have a pattern of complaints.

If you buy from an online auction site like Ebay, choose a seller with a history of satisfied customers and has made recent sales, because scammers can hijack old accounts.

If you buy from a classified ad like Craigslist, meet in a public place and examine the tickets to avoid forgeries.

Here's a look at the World Series schedule:

Game 1 and 2 are in Kansas City. The series returns to San Francisco for Games 3 and 4, Friday and Saturday. AT&T Park will also host Game 5, if necessary, on Sunday. If the series continues, the teams go back to Kansas City for Game 6 on Tuesday, October 28, and Game 7 on Wednesday, October 29. All games start at 5:07 p.m.
