SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Thursday night, there was a celebratory dinner for the San Francisco police and fire departments -- one team was named the victor and the other was the server.
The San Francisco Police Department's team beat the city's firefighters 27-7 in a charity, flag football game at the Legends of Candlestick event on July 12.
Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White and her fire-fighting staff followed through on a bet with the police to serve the winning team dinner. There were plenty of smiles, especially when Hayes-White joked that she might spill soup on San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr.
Suhr said, "It ended up just the way we wanted it to be. I mean you always want to finish the last game, with the big win against your biggest rival on the biggest stage, Candlestick Park, man, it's awesome!"
The game raised $15,000 for each department's charity.
