MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Oklahoma defensive lineman Charles Walker will sit out the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl on Thursday night against Clemson, a university spokesman confirmed through coach Bob Stoops.

Walker suffered a concussion during practice on Monday.

Walker has been a key piece of the defensive line all season. He is third on the defense with six sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Walker also has 36 tackles with a forced fumble.

Walker posted a message on Instagram, saying "next man up" and that he would be back should the Sooners beat Clemson and advance to the national championship.
