Tomas Hertl day-to-day but out for Game 5

PITTSBURGH -- The San Jose Sharks tried to keep their season alive without forwardTomas Hertl,who was ruled out for Thursday's Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals.

"Day-to-day," coach Peter DeBoer said of Hertl. "Out tonight."

Due to a lower-body injury, Hertl hasn't played in the finals since Pittsburgh's overtime win in Game 2. He logged 20:20 of ice time in Game 2 playing on the Sharks' top line with Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski.

Hertl has six goals and five assists in 20 playoff games this postseason.
