US Goalkeeper's performance of a lifetime not enough to win

There was only so much Tim Howard could do in Tuesday's Round of 16 match against Belgium.

Even though the Americans lost 2-1, the U.S. goalkeeper had a performance for the ages, recording 16 incredible saves - tying the 2nd-most in a World Cup game in the last 50 years. Howard kept hope alive but it wasn't enough as Belgium's constant attack was just too much for the Yanks to handle.

If indeed this was Howard's last game putting on a stars and stripes jersey, then what a way to go out with such a historic performance. Hopefully it wasn't though because he's an American savior, deserving of a World Cup trophy.
