Warriors gear flies off Bay Area store shelves
As the Golden State Warriors first round playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans heats up, it's become tougher to find the team's gear in Bay Area stores.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- The Golden State Warriors are shining so bright these days that you have to wear shades, a hat, and maybe a t-shirt. But that's easier said than done. As Golden State's first round playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans continues, it's become tougher to find the team's gear.

Scad Uytiepo is on his way home to Hawaii and just had to pick up some Warriors gear before heading to the airport. .

"It's my favorite team since middle school," he said.

Now that Golden State is in the playoffs, everybody's on the bandwagon. And stores are scrambling to keep up with fan demand.

"I'm going away for a couple of weeks and I want to represent Golden State all the way in New York," said fan Paresh Baru.

Heads Up Sports in Concord is stuffed with traditional jerseys and hats, plus clocks, socks, mugs, and memorabilia.

"I wish we had more things to give people, because everybody's is asking for it," said employee Leah Tremblay-Adams. "But it's nice to still have a selection available."

Trust us, the hunt is on for blue and yellow. We found Jeff Balugo at Dick's Sporting Goods in Pleasant Hill.

"It's been very scarce," he said. "Not too much stuff everywhere. This is actually the most I've seen and I've been to about five or six different places."

If you want to represent like some of the Warriors players do off the court, 19-year-old Kabir Chimni has the swag. He designed a Dub Nation shirt. And through social media, he's gotten guys like Justin Holliday as customers. Now mere mortals visit his SportsSwag website.

"Every time I get a new shipment of shirts, they're gone," he said. "I just sold out again."
