Consumer Reports tests what it takes to bend and iPhone
After this week's critical online reports of Apple?s new iPhones and how easily some say it bends, Consumer Reports put it to the test.

Reports online are critical of Apple's new iPhones. Some videos suggest it bends permanently, raising questions about a problem with the structural design. Consumer Reports partnered exclusively with 7 On Your Side to test out the iPhone 6 and other popular phones.

The machine had to apply 70 pounds of pressure to the iPhone 6 before it permanently bent.

"Turns out, it takes a lot of force to permanently bend one of these new iPhones or any of the other phones we tested for that matter," Glenn Derene from Consumer Reports said.

Here's a look at the other phones: the HTC One M8 also permanently bent at 70 pounds. The iPhone 6 Plus took 90 pounds. The LG G3 was even more impressive at 130 pounds. And the Samsung Galaxy topped them all, lasting until 150 pounds.

The result was Consumer Reports found the iPhones are not the strongest phones around, but said fears of a structural design flaw are overblown.
