MENLO PARK, Calif. (KGO) -- Facebook shuttle drivers have voted to unionize.

The vote comes a day after drivers and supporters rallied in front of Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park.

The vote was 48 votes in favor of joining the teamsters union and 28 votes against.

The move comes after workers complained about working split shifts, often waiting six hours in between picking up and dropping off Facebook employees without being paid.

The company claims it pays an hourly wage that is among the highest in the industry along with full medical benefits, vacation, holiday and sick days.
