How do firefighters spend their downtime? Over in Russia, the answer is by creating the latest in firefighting technology.

A firehouse--which, we'll assume, was having a very slow day--created this fire hose hovercraft and posted a video of it in action on YouTube.

The device utilizes six powerful fire hoses and some type of platform to create a makeshift hovercraft. The firefighter has trouble balancing at first, but eventually finds his balance and his path to water-hovering glory, some 10 feet above the ground.

We're still not sure how he would steer the thing. Or, you know, how it could be used in an emergency.
