Tech innovators gather for 8th Annual Crunchies award show

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The Titans of Tech are coming to San Francisco Thursday night for the 8th Annual Crunchies, where the most compelling startups, Internet and technology innovations of the year will be celebrated.

Think of the Crunchies as The Oscars for technology. Unlike The Oscars, the Crunchies are decided by ordinary users.

Among the nominees are Apple Pay, the game "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood" and Uber. But some of the nominees are companies or people you might not know much about.

Though only a few will take home the coveted "bronze monkey," just being nominated makes all these teams winners.
