Super Bowl Verizon ad coming down due to SF city ordinance violation
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Part of the sign hanging off a high-rise next to Super Bowl City will be coming down. The City Attorney's Office says the Verizon ads at Embarcadero Center violate city law because they're too big.

"Statistically, San Francisco hosts the equivalent of 18 Super Bowls every year. Even if it were in our power to say that we're going to let you break the law this time, we're going to have to do that for everybody," City Attorney spokesperson Matt Dorsey said.
The part of the sign showing the game logo and Lombardi Trophy will stay.

ABC7 News first questioned the legality of the signs last week, when an architect told us they violated a voter-approved ordinance.
