Yahoo releases employee diversity report

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (KGO) -- Yahoo has released a new diversity report. According to the company, 62 percent of its employees are male and 37 percent are female.

In terms of ethnicity, half of the company's workforce are white, 39 percent are Asian, four percent are Hispanic and two percent are Black. The numbers are similar to what other Silicon Valley tech companies have reported, including Google.

In a statement, Yahoo said the numbers only tell part of the story. Yahoo says the company serves people of diverse backgrounds and is highly engaged in communities.
