SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A person died on the BART tracks at the Civic Center station in San Francisco Thursday morning, a BART spokesman said.

The person was reported under the train at 10:08 a.m. on the Daly City line. The station is closed until further notice, BART spokesman Taylor Huckaby said.

BART ran trains through the station without stopping for a period of time and passengers faced delays of up to 40 minutes.

Huckaby said BART officials encouraged passengers to use San Francisco Municipal Railway, MUNI, which is offered mutual aid.
