Fatal crash cleared from Hwy 101 in San Jose

SAN JOSE -- The California Highway Patrol this morning is reporting a fatal crash on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Jose.

The crash occurred at 1:54 a.m. near Blossom Hill Road, according to the CHP.

One person was reportedly killed in the crash.

A van crashed into a tree off the highway and caught fire, according to the CHP.

The crash closed lanes of northbound U.S. Highway 101 for a few hours.

All lanes have since reopened.
