Landslide cleared from Hwy 101 in Sausalito

A rockslide is blocking multiple southbound lanes of Hwy 101 in Sausalito.

Southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 101 between the Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito have reopened this morning after crews cleared a landslide from the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.



The rock and mudslide was reported near the Alexander Avenue off-ramp at about 2:30 a.m., CHP officials said. It blocked two southbound lanes of the highway and knocked down a light pole.

Caltrans crews worked throughout the morning to clear the lanes and the road fully reopened at about 11:30 a.m., CHP officials said.
