SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- BART officials say the 16th and Mission Street station in San Francisco has reopened after a threat prompted its closure Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say a passenger overheard someone threaten to blow up a southbound train. The station was evacuated and closed at about 3:30 p.m. while police investigated and bomb-sniffing dogs worked the scene.

Service was also halted between the Civic Center and 24th and Mission street stations.

The station reopened around 4:20 p.m. BART officials say one person is in custody.
