Police investigating fatal hit-and-run in San Bruno
Police are looking for a driver in a fatal hit-and-run crash in San Bruno on Skyline Boulevard near Berkshire.

SAN BRUNO, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in San Bruno that temporarily closed Skyline Boulevard near Berkshire.

Skyline College is nearby, but there is no word on the identity of the victim.

The investigation started when San Bruno police received a call of a pedestrian being injured at about 1:40 this morning. When they arrived on Skyline Boulevard they found the victim, only identified as a male. He died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle took off.

Detectives are now following up on some leads.

"It is a hit-and-run -- we do have a couple of witnesses to the event and we're encouraging any members of the public with any information to please come forward and contact the San Bruno Police Department," said San Bruno Police Sgt. Kevin McMullan.

Police say those witnesses saw the collision and are working with investigators.
