SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Another popular San Francisco landmark, Van Ness Avenue, may be closed for construction early next year.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, plans are in the works to build an underground walkway connecting the new Sutter Health hospital and a medical office building.

That tunnel will go under the intersection of Van Ness and Geary.

Plans call for three separate full shutdowns of the intersection, plus another four months of partial shutdowns.
