San Mateo Bridge reopens after weekend repair work
The San Mateo Bridge reopened early Monday after Caltrans completed weekend repair work.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- All lanes of the San Mateo Bridge have reopened after crews finished repair work. Caltrans closed the bridge all weekend to resurface the deck and perform routine maintenance.

The bridge closure put extra pressure on other Bay Area roadways over the weekend. Many Giants fans said they anticipated the heavier than normal traffic conditions Sunday, so they took public transportation to get to AT&T Park.

Crews spent Sunday afternoon resurfacing the deck structure.

The bridge will also need to be closed for Memorial Day weekend starting late Friday evening until Monday.
