Traffic delays expected on I-880 due to demoliton

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (KGO) -- Expect traffic delays on I-880 starting Monday night in San Leandro.

The California Department of Transportation will start to demolish the Davis Street Bridge as part of a project to widen southbound I-880 from Hegenberger to Marina Boulevard.

The demolition will run from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. on weekends and from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weeknights until January 24.

Some of the lanes will be closed during demolition. The entire freeway is expected to be closed in one direction on occasion, depending on the work.
