Herd of elephants work together to protect calf in river
You've probably heard the saying that it takes a village to raise a child. In this case, it takes a herd of elephants to protect a calf.

THAILAND (KGO) -- You've probably heard the saying that it takes a village to raise a child. In this case, it takes a herd of elephants to protect a calf.

YouTube video shows a group of elephants wading in a river for bath time at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand.

The current was too strong for the baby elephant. So the herd showed their instinctive, protective nature by standing in a circle around the calf to protect it from the current.

Eventually the adult elephants were able to guide the baby safely back to shore.
