SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Planning to fly this Thanksgiving? A new report out says many of you may be in for an unpleasant experience.

The folks at FareCompare.com crunched all the numbers from the past five years. It seems Thanksgiving travelers have a one in four chance of experiencing a weather delay.

"Flying this Thanksgiving is going to be a slow slog. There's going to be a weather event somewhere. It's going to be an all-day experience," explained Rich Seaney with FareCompare.

Chances are you'll be delayed with a lot more people, too. The Airlines Association says 24.5 million people will be flying this Thanksgiving season. That's slightly higher than last year.
