A weak cold front is spreading scattered light showers to sprinkles across the Bay Area today. The system will not help out much with the drought, as it will only bring .10" to .25" of rain until 4 p.m.

Most of the rain has been concentrated in the North Bay, but radar has picked up returns all across the Bay Area. Highs will range from the mid 60s at the Coast to low 70s Inland.

The rain came as a surprise to some:

"It caught me by surprise. When I left my house it was pretty warm in the Excelsior and I saw people with shorts and when I got (to the Embarcadero) it was raining," said San Francisco resident Antonio Rico.

Rain could be a factor when the San Francisco Giants return home for the World Series. An area of low pressure from the Gulf of Alaska will send an unsettled pattern to the region on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
