A storm dumping snow and ice on the East Coast caused panic for some travelers trying to fly out of the Bay Area.

Many travelers were getting the memo that their flights were cancelled and weren't even bothering to come to Bay Area airports.


But some passengers were left stranded while a few lucky ones caught their flights with a golden ticket back home.

More than 100 flights were canceled in and out of SFO today due to the bad weather out east.

What's more, finding a place to wait is proving to be a challenge with so many travelers spending an extra day in the Bay Area. "I would be staying for tonight, and coming back tomorrow morning to catch the flight," Parhpap Kuritala told ABC7. His flight to New York was canceled for at least a day.
