Fla. officer helps home stranded man in wheelchair during storm
A Florida police officer helped a man home during a storm after the man's wheelchair suddenly stopped working.

FORT MYERS, Florida (KGO) -- A Fort Myers, Florida man is praising a police officer whom he says went above and beyond the call of duty.

Dashcam video shows officer Gil Benitez approaching Michael Arnold, whose electric wheelchair suddenly stopped working during a downpour.

"The wind picked up like crazy and I got to the end of the street and everything just stopped on me," said Michael Arnold.

Officer Benitez pushed Arnold all the way home, where he dried him off and stayed with him until his family arrived.

Arnold says the officer is his hero. Officer Benitz says he was just doing his job.
