Rachele Bowman thought it would never stop raining last week in Fairfax, "There was a large volume of rain," she said. "Just overwhelming."

The drenching caused a mudslide on Olema Road, trapping two children and their grandparents inside their home. Luckily, they were rescued.

The same hill is now covered in plastic. Most every business downtown still has sandbags ready out front. More rain is on the way.

"I was nervous," said Bowman. "And feel that way about the upcoming week as well."

In Novato, barricades of sandbags protect homes on Lauren Avenue after a nearby creek overflowed last week bring four feet of water dangerously close to Kathleen Cage's house. She's ready for another round of rain. "Hope for the best, prepare for safety. A home is important, but it's just stuff."

In Sonoma County, officials will be watching the rain, but don't anticipate the Russian River will reach flood stage, after many neighborhoods were left underwater only days ago.

More rain is a subtle reminder that winter is far from over.
