North Bay residents fear floods will return with rain
PETALUMA, Calif. (KGO) -- Rain fell in sheets in the North Bay Wednesday, causing rivers of water to run along the streets.

Many people feared for the worst when the light of day came. During the downpour, high water forced the closure of San Rafael's Lucas Valley Road. Thursday morning the water was gone, but based on equipment left behind, worries of history repeating remain.
"Winter time is not even a month old, and if it, this keeps up, it could be record setting," said San Anselmo resident Dave Franzoia.
We ran into him while watching the town of San Anselmo clean up a large tree that crashed across Sir Frances Drake Blvd., squeezing traffic while crews reduced the remains to streams of wood chips.
In Petaluma, workers placed feed into bins at Hunt and Behrens, an institution with an agricultural history going back generations. They have a history with the Petaluma River too.
Joseph Masciorini pointed to where high waters rose earlier in the week. "If it gets over this, we have problems."
He remembers 1982 when a flood overran the place. He said he's thankful for river improvements since then. "Once it filled out, there was a car in the street," said Masciorini. "You couldn't see it."

At the Taps Restaurant and Tap Room they don't even take notice of the river until their sand bar disappears.
