SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Some South Bay residents are upset about a flagrant example of water wasting seemingly by the San Jose Water Company.

Water has been bubbling from under a manhole cover in Downtown San Jose since at least Friday night. That's when an ABC7 News viewer first spotted the leak.

The water flowing out has created a small stream along Second Street.

"It's ridiculous because we are in a water drought right now," Wolfe Roadman Cevorov said. "Just to let water run like that, as short as it is, is pathetic. It should have been addressed as soon as it was reported."

The San Jose Water Company said the the leak will be fixed Wednesday.

A company spokesperson said crews had to wait for AT&T to finish other work in the area.

Santa Clara County recently hired water cops to help residents detect leaks in their home.
