Remember remember, New York's snowy November, that covered upstate in white powdery doom? The harsh winter storm's unexpected result: a sizable baby boom!

Buffalo residents are currently experiencing a baby boom nine months after the "Snowvember" winter storm, which blanketed the western part of the state in snow while also bringing in a flurry of funny social media posts and even snack food theft.

"We were snowed in right in the heart of South Buffalo," new mom Amy Stegura told ABC affiliate WKBW. Stegura gave birth to her son Charlie Stegura last week.

"We were stressed and it was a lot of work having to dig ourselves out and it was annoying. But I mean you get a miracle from it."

Medical officials at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo are currently prepping for a big influx of new babies.

"The hospital is getting ready for our little baby boom to happen," Dr. Lynn-Marie Aronica told WKBW. "It's going to be about the end of August, we're really preparing for, approximately I think we figured out a 25 to 30 percent increase."

The hospital has also purchased more cribs to account for the rise in new babies. Many of the doctors who worked during Snovember will be the same ones delivering those babies nine months later.

"We are absolutely positively ready. We even bought more cribs so that we absolutely have the capacity ready to be able to care for all these beautiful babies," Maternity & Child Services Director Mary Ann Murphy said.

The hospital says it usually expects increases in births when small winter storms happen. It expects this boom, though, to be "the most significant increase" it has ever seen.
