Steady rain makes for soggy weekend in Bay Area
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Rain pounded windshields on Highway 101 in San Rafael and all over the Bay Area Saturday.
Rain was a welcome sight across the Bay Area, but it put a real damper on sports games and festivals.

At AT&T Park, the Giants-Dodgers game was on a 45-minute rain delay, but Giants fans are a hearty bunch. They were prepared with lots of rain gear.
"Rain or shine, snow, let it fall, we'll still be here," said Giants fan Mickey Arevalos.

The drive over the Golden Gate Bridge Saturday was soggy and foggy. The Marin County Sheriff's Department tweeted a picture of an overturned SUV off Lucas Valley Road in San Rafael. Slick pavement was to blame. The driver wasn't hurt.
In Mill Valley, an oak tree toppled onto power lines, prompting the closure of Lovell Avenue, until PG&E could shut off the power and take the tree down.
A tree fell into power lines in Lafayette on Spring Hill Road knocking out power to a neighborhood.
The Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown was off to a wet start. Food vendors got creative with aluminum foil to keep the rain away.
Festival organizers hope the crowds and the sun will return Sunday.
So far, more than an inch of rain has fallen between Thursday evening and Saturday evening in locations in four San Francisco Bay Area counties, according to unofficial totals from the National Weather Service.
Between 6 p.m. Thursday and 6 p.m. Saturday, skies dropped 1.05 inches in Oakland, 1.42 inches at Turner Gulch in Santa Clara County, 1.33 inches in Lichau Creek in Sonoma County and 1.21 inches on Bald Peak in Tilden Park in Contra Costa County.
Downtown San Francisco received 0.49 inches of rain while the Napa County Airport recorded 0.61 inches.
By the time the rain ends Monday morning, some areas may receive another quarter of an inch, forecaster Diana Henderson said.
