U.S. Forest Service conducting survey in Sierra to find dead trees
After five years of drought, 66 million dead trees have been reported by the Forest Service in the Southern Sierra and a survey is being conducted by air in Northern California.

DAVIS, Calif. (KGO) -- After five years of drought, 66 million dead trees have been reported by the Forest Service in the Southern Sierra and an aerial survey is being conducted in Northern California. Dead trees are the fuel that could mean a bad fire season ahead.

The United States Forest Service is trying to figure out where California's trees are dying and why. Watch the video above for Jonathan Bloom's full report.
