TAMPA, Fla. -- A U.S. Postal Service worker who was driving a big rig demolished by a waterspout in Florida lived to tell his harrowing story.
A waterspout traveling on shore turned into a tornado and knocked an 80,000 pound truck on its side, then back onto all 18 wheels.
Randall Leaver survived and said he was on his usual route in Tampa Bay on Sunday when his truck got caught in swirling winds. "All of a sudden I starting feeling this gust of wind and I thought 'oh no, is this what I think it is'? I've never been to hell, but I thought I was in hell. First thing I did when I got home was held my son. God was definitely watching over me today," he said.
The incident left him humbled and very grateful. Leaver said he feels fortunate to have walked away with minor bumps and bruises.
