LARKSPUR, Calif. (KGO) -- It's a rainy, messy start to the holiday weekend in the Bay Area with heavy downpour creating flooding on several roads.

There was some flooding near Lucky Drive in Corte Madera early this morning. The drive across the Richmond San Rafael Bridge was also slick and windy.

In the East Bay, crews dealt with a fallen tree in a San Leandro neighborhood.

"You could see it was saturation, it was lifted off the sidewalk and you could just see it came down," said Don O'Connor, San Leandro Public Works Street Supervisor.

Two back to back storms, just a week apart was too much for the tree.

"This is fully mature tree it's feet off. If it was a little we could save it and restake it, but it's off," said O'Connor.

The bright side to the gloomy weather? Kids are out of school, traffic is lighter than usual and many people are home getting ready for the holiday weekend.
