Weekend of September 17 - 19
The Flower Piano in San Francisco's Botanical Gardens is blooming again. The city's so-called alfresco concert hall was put on pause in 2020, but it's back! Twelve pianos are nestled throughout the garden's 55 acres in Golden Gate Park for anyone to listen, now through September 21. You can play the keys too when performances aren't scheduled. Sanitizing stations will be available at all twelve pianos.
If you decide to venture to the park on Saturday, you can also catch Comedy Day in Robin Williams Meadow! One stage, five hours, 40 comedians and a million laughs they say! And I mean... we could all use a laugh these days... plus its free!
And sticking with that theme, Saturday is also the Smithsonian's Annual Free Museum Day! Participating museums in our area include the American Bookbinders Museum, Museum of Craft and Design, USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum, Bedford Gallery, San Jose Museum of Art, San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles, and the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art.
Event availability may be subject to change. Always be sure to check the event's official website before planning your weekend!
