Final shopping frenzy underway in Bay Area
Time is running out for shoppers to pick up last-minute gifts before Christmas, but it isn't stopping some shoppers from finding some amazing deals.

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (KGO) -- Do you have some last-minute Christmas shopping to do? With time running out, retailers and shoppers are in the frantic final hours to grab those last gifts.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... everywhere you drive. Traffic was not so jolly if you were headed to the mall Wednesday.

Shopper Caitlyn Callagy saw the weather report and knew she had to finish before the next storm moved in. She told us, "So I went to the gym after work, went home and realize I had to run out."

Toys "R" Us is pulling a holiday all-nighter and staying open until 9 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Shopper Lajonique Foster said, "Buy them closing late, it helps me a lot."

Foster, who works two jobs and doesn't have any time for Christmas shopping on the average day, was able to score some last-minute deals. She said, "I got this scooter, which is in store for $130. They gave it to me for $100 online, so I call that a deal."

Cindy Umanzor did most of her shopping online, but just found the land of deep discounts at The Village at Corte Madera where there are 40, 50 and even 70 percent-off deals. Retailers are clearly making a last-minute push to get shoppers into their stores.

Umanzor said, "Maybe I should wait until last minute next year because some of these deals are better than online deals."

Those shoppers who wait until late Christmas Eve will likely find themselves running to stores in the rain.
