OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- A family just spent four days driving across America only to have almost everything they own stolen in Oakland, and one of those items is irreplaceable.

Herb Featherstone and his family rented a 16-foot long van in Baltimore. Featherstone parked the Penske van on Shattuck Avenue Tuesday night. It was gone Wednesday morning.

Gone with the van was an urn containing the ashes of Featherstone's infant daughter. She died many years ago.

"The stuff that was taken in the truck, that can be replaced, but my daughter's urn and her ashes, that's something dear to me and my family, so if you can return it. That's fine," Featherstone said.

Contact Oakland police if you information on the van.
