SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- This week begins a unique effort among Bay Area media organizations to put a spotlight on one issue in San Francisco that has been persistent for decades: The plight of the homeless.

ABC7 is proud to participate in the "SF Homeless Project" with more than 60 other media outlets.

The SF Homeless project will culminate on Wednesday with media outlets blanketing the Bay Area with stories covering all aspects of the homeless crisis.

We hope our contribution will spur a discussion about real solutions for a problem that affects everyone who lives or works in San Francisco.

A letter of intent was released Monday by over 60 media agencies.
