Lockdown lifted at Lafayette schools after suspects detained

LAFAYETTE, Calif. -- Police lifted a lockdown for the entire neighborhood south of and including Acalanes High School and Springhill Elementary in Lafayette Thursday morning after apprehending the suspects they chased into the area, according to police.

Police lifted the lockdown at about 11:45 a.m. and announced that the suspects had been taken into custody.

The incident began at about 10:30 a.m. when Pleasant Hill police chased the suspects into the school area.

The area searched included the entire neighborhood bordered by state Highway 24, Pleasant Hill Road, Camino Diablo and the high school campus, according to police.

No additional information about the incident was immediately available.
