LOS ANGELES (KGO) -- Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is making headlines after being accused of child abuse.

Los Angeles police say they received an anonymous call claiming the musician was abusing his wife and four-week-old daughter.

Police investigated the complaint and found no evidence of abuse and closed the case.

Some experts say the Grammy winner was the victim of swatting or, making a prank call to trigger a swat team response on innocent people.

"It sounds like they dealt with this well, which was they went, they said to him this is what the allegation was and the allegation was specific too," said ABC News Chief Legal Analyst Dan Abrams. "They investigated and very quickly determined, nothing here."

No charges have been filed yet, but if the tipster is found that person could be charged with a misdemeanor.
