An Uber driver in Maryland is facing kidnapping and assault charges after police say he took an unconscious female passenger to a hotel.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The nation's leading rideshare companies are offering promotions on Election Day to get voters to the polls and perhaps reel in new customers.

Zipcar will offer 7,000 of its vehicles nationwide, free of charge, to help customers get to polling places.

Lyft is offering a 45 percent discount to riders heading to the polls all day on Tuesday.

Uber has a deal for first time riders: a $20 discount if they use the promotional code "vote today."
