Mill Valley deals with flooding, impassable roads during strong storm
MILL VALLEY, Calif. (KGO) -- Flooding is already an issue in the North Bay. Green Valley Road, just North of Sebastopol, was covered in water by early Thursday afternoon.

The Manzanita area between Sausalito and Mill Valley is one of the ground zeros for flooding and rain complications especially when high tides push up from the Bay and meet with water cascading down from Mount Tamalpaius.
In Marin Thursday, the effect has been far reaching.
Miller Avenue in Mill Valley was so flooded that it became impassable, forcing drivers every which way except where they wanted to go.
Battalion Chief Scott Barnes says this happens about three times a year, and it isn't even winter yet, at least not officially. "It is a fact of life that we have tides and weather and just have to deal with Mother Nature," he told ABC7 News.
It would seem that Mother Nature held most of the cards Thursday. The parking lot at the Holiday Inn Express in Mill Valley looked more like a lake. The place is famous for its water views, especially today.
