Oakland police, CHP to crackdown on post-Game 5 celebrations
Oakland police is fully staffed and working with the Alameda County Sheriff's Department, who has their bomb squad at Oracle tonight, along with a top secret security plan.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Oakland police are asking the public to leave fireworks and perhaps some less expected items behind tonight.

"Please leave your backpack or large bags at home, they will not be allowed in the stadium, and this is for security precautions," explained Johanna Watson with the Oakland Police Department.

OPD is fully staffed and working with the Alameda County Sheriff's Department, who has their bomb squad at Oracle tonight, along with a top secret security plan.

"This is not a good night to be a drunk driver. We'll have extra officers out there, so if you're thinking of drinking at the game, have a plan for your ride home," said CHP Officer Sean Wilkenfeld.

Meanwhile, Oakland bars are gearing up for a big night!

"Typically with these types of games, we'll see our Monday nights turn into our typical Thursday night," said Adam Howe who works at Drake's Brewing Company. He says he expects business to be 50 percent higher tonight than a typical Monday.

And over at Plank in Jack London Square, they're expecting the bar to be at capacity - that's 1,000 people!

"We're super excited to welcome the Warriors to keep playing to Game 7 because it's great for business, but we want them to clinch it tonight, so it's gonna be awesome!" said Bennie Thomas with Plank.

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf wants to remind fans that all eyes are on Oakland and to celebrate respectfully.

"This is a great team and they would not want their fans to sully the city that they call home," she said.

The mayor also says after all these years of experience, Oakland is more prepared to handle a warriors win tonight, than ever before.
