SAN JOSE, Calif. -- A man has surrendered to Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies who surrounded his home in an unincorporated pocket of Central San Jose Wednesday morning, sheriff's officials said.

The standoff began after a domestic incident between the man and his father around 9:50 a.m. at a home near West San Carlos Street and Raymond Avenue in the Burbank neighborhood.

Deputies believed the suspect was in the home alone. His family said he was armed with a gun, according to sheriff's Sgt. Rich Glennon.

The man was taken into custody sometime between 11:10 a.m. and 11:55 a.m. He was not armed when he came out of the home and was alone.
