Crews prep for New Year's Eve along San Francisco's waterfront
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Barriers are stacked along San Francisco's Embarcadero Saturday night, ready for Sunday when they'll line the streets to help control the tens of thousands of people expected to ring in the new year and watch the fireworks over San Francisco Bay.
There will be tight security and heavy police presence.
"If you see something, say something," San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott said.

At a press conference Friday Scott said visitors should feel safe here.
"There are no known credible threats to the city, however we know that anytime there is a large event with a large amount of people we always have to provide additional police support, additional collaboration or better collaboration with all of our local, state, and federal partners," Scott said.
Bars and restaurants along the waterfront are gearing up for a busy night.
Coquette is already booked with a special New Year's Eve menu.

Pier 23 is holding its own party to countdown to 2018.
The fire department is reminding people how dangerous it is to set off illegal fireworks, and is urging people to report any they see.
The city set up special safety alerts. Emergency information will be pushed out via text message.
