One person killed, two others injured in West Oakland shooting

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- A woman was killed in a shooting that injured two others in West Oakland late Monday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired around 4:45 p.m. in the 2900 block of Chestnut Street, about a block east of Adeline Street, Officer J. Moore said.

The woman was found and pronounced dead at the scene, Moore said.

A male juvenile was also found injured at the scene and taken to a hospital, Moore said.

A third victim, a man, suffered at least one gunshot wound in the shooting and took himself to a hospital, according to Moore.

Both surviving victims are in stable condition, he said.

Officers, firefighters and medical crews remained at the scene as of 7 p.m., police said.

Traffic is blocked to cars and pedestrians in the surrounding area, according to police.

No arrests were made and no suspect description was available Monday evening, police said.
